Result: Win
Play: Los Angeles Angels
Rating: 10*

The Los Angeles Angels have played some excellent baseball since the All Star break with five consecutive wins and a total of 33 runs scored. They defeated the Texas Rangers 8-6 on Tuesday and I like the Halos to sweep the series Wednesday night.

Hector Santiago (7-4, 4.27 ERA) takes the ball for the Angels. He's 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA in three meetings with Texas this year, but the left-hander has tossed a total of 14 scoreless innings through his last two starts and held five of his last six opponents to one run or fewer while going at least six innings each time. Angels are 9-1 in Santiago's last 10 starts during Game 3 of a series.

The Rangers turn to left-hander Martin Perez (7-6, 4.05 ERA) who is 1-1 with a 2.19 ERA in two meetings with the Angels on the season. He's been quite fortunate to not allow more runs though with 12 hits and seven walks allowed through just 12 1/3 innings of work. The Angels are 6-2 in their last eight games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and Perez has really struggled lately with a total of 17 runs (12 earned) allowed in 9 2/3 innings in his last two outings.

Both teams are hitting left-handers hard, but with home advantage and the momentum all on their side I'm going with a BIG BET on the red hot Halos.
