Rating: 10*

The Cincinnati Reds will host NL Central rivals the St. Louis Cardinals for the opener of a three-game set on Friday. This looks like a great price on the Reds with Anthony DeSclafani on the hill.

DeSclafani (8-2, 2.96) is coming off his first career shutout as he held the D'Backs to four hits while fanning nine in a 13-0 victory his last time out, his 11th quality start in 15 outings since coming off the disabled list on June 10. He's 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in six home starts on the season.

The Cardinals turn to 22 year old rookie Alex Reyes (1-0, 0.64 ERA) who will make his second major league start ever. He held the A's to one run on a pair of hits through 4 2/3 innings his last time out, but the right-hander also issued four walks. He's now surrendered seven hits and eight walks through 14 innings in the big leagues, and he can't keep pitching himself out of jams forever.

The Reds have lost four straight since DeSclafani's last start, but they're 9-6 with the right-hander on the mound this season, pretty impressive for a 55-77 team. We also have a situational angle with the Reds going 5-1 in their last 6 games following an off day while the Cardinals are 7-17 in their last 24 games in the same spot.
