The Atlanta Falcons will open the season with a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers home at Georgia Dome, and this looks like a great spot to back the home team.
Tampa Bay swept the season series for the first time since 2007 last year, winning 23-20 in overtime at Atlanta and 23-19 at home. It is just 2-7 ATS in its last nine games in September though and 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games in Week 1. The Falcons meanwhile are no slow starters and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in September and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games in Week 1. Atlanta returns all its key offensive weapons and the D should improve with the addition of defensive end Dwight Freeney. Look for the Falcons to come out looking to revenge last season's series and cover the spread with ease.
