NFL 3-Pack
Play: Dallas Cowboys
Rating: 8*
The 2-1 Dallas Cowboys will visit the 1-2 San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium Sunday afternoon, and my money is on the visitors to win.
Dallas is coming off back-to-back wins since a 1-point loss in the season opener, and it looked extremely good in Monday's 31-17 primetime victory over the Bears. Dak Prescott is getting the job done under center and Ezekiel Elliott is always a threat on the ground. Elliott accumulated a season-high 140 yards with one TD on 30 carries against Chicago and the team has rushed for seven TDs this season, only one shy of last season's total of eight.
The 49ers are 30th in passing yards per game with a 175.3 mark (just 5.5 yards/attempt), but Chip Kelly will keep Blaine Gabbert under center. "Everyone wants to know why Kap (Colin Kapernick) isn't our No. 1," Kelly said. "I don't think Kap is 100 percent right now; that's what I'm saying. I don't think he's ready to go full time. Kap will be the first to tell you." The Niners shut out the Rams 28-0 in Week 1 in their lone home game of the season so far, but they've suffered blowout defeats to Carolina and Seattle since.
The 49ers are 2-7-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record while the Cowboys are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. We're likely to see some inflated spreads favoring the Cowboys if their success continues, but I think they'll take this game without much trouble.
