Play: Detroit Tigers
Rating: 10*

The Cleveland Indians have clinched the division and they have one only goal right now; staying as healthy as possible until the postseason. The Detroit Tigers on the other hand are looking to steal a wild card berth and they're coming in hot having averaged 7.33 runs per game through their last nine contests. They won last night's rain-shortened matchup 6-3 thanks to a Miguel Cabrera three-run homer at the bottom of the fifth.

The Tigers enter this game one game behind Baltimore for the second wild-card spot and they hope left-hander Daniel Norris (3-2, 3.59 ERA) can help them edge even closer. Norris is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two starts against the Indians in 2016 and he has permitted three runs or fewer in 11 of 12 starts on the season. The Tribe turn to another left-hander in Ryan Merritt (0-0, 1.50 ERA) who will make his first career start in the big leagues. He has logged just six innings during three relief appearances over three separate months this season, and the desperate Tigers should be able to hit him hard.

Indians are 2-6 in their last eight road games vs. a left-handed starter, Tigers are 6-2 in their last eight games vs. a left-handed starter and a solid 5-1 in Norris' last six starts.
