Play: Detroit Tigers
Rating: 8*

The Detroit Tigers need to win and then defeat the Indians in a rainout Monday night to face either Baltimore or Toronto in a one-game playoff, granted either of those teams lose today. Another way to put it; anything but a victory here and the Tigers are eliminated no matter what.

We'll see two quality pitchers in Justin Verlander (16-8, 3.10 ERA) and Julio Teheran (6-10, 3.33 ERA), but the Tigers have the advantage just about everywhere else and Terehan has not been great lately yielding five or more runs in three of his seven starts since coming off the disabled list in mid-August. We can also note that Detroit is 34-17 in day road games this season and 4-0 in Verlander's last four starts vs. a team with a losing record. The Braves are 3-14 in Teheran's last 17 home starts.

The Tigers have the bats to compete with just about any team in the league, and I think they'll win big here with Verlander on the mound.
