The Detroit Red Wings have won five straight meetings with the Carolina Hurricanes, and this looks like a good spot to back the Red Wings home at Joe Louis Arena Tuesday night.

Detroit is 7-1 in its last eight home games and a perfect 3-0-0 on the season. The team is playing competitive hockey and surprisingly good D, particularly home in Motor City with just a total of four goals allowed through three games. Carolina meanwhile has won just one of its first five games to start the season. The team will wrap up its season-opening five-game road trip tonight, and I think the Canes are looking forward to get home to Carolina more than anything else. They've been atrocious at the defensive end of the ice, and their "star" netminder Cam Ward has posted a pathetic .852 save percentage.
