The high-scoring Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a 5-2 win at New Jersey last night, but I think we'll see way fewer goals when they host the Carolina Hurricanes here the next day. Note that the under is 5-2 in the Pens last seven games playing on no rest and 9-2-2 in the Hurricanes last 13 when their opponent scores five goals or more in their previous game.
Carolina is coming off three consecutive wins (Buffalo x 2 and Boston) and has allowed just a total of four goals during that span. Defenseman Justin Faulk has four goals through the last five games but the team announced he is week-to-week with a lower-body injury and will miss this game.
The Hurricanes' netminder Cam Ward has posted a respectable 2.22 GAA in previous meetings with the Penguins. The Pens will have Matt Murray (2.14 GAA on the season) back between the pipes after giving Marc-Andre Fleury the nod last night.
