The Mets hand the ball to Noah Syndergaard who struck out seven with no walks in six shutout innings against Atlanta on opening day Monday. He was 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three starts against Miami last season. The Fish turn to Edinson Volquez who allowed just four hits in five shutout innings at Washington in his Marlins debut, but he's 3-5 with a 4.99 ERA in 10 career starts against the Mets.
The Marlins are 2-9 in their last 11 when their opponent scores two runs or fewer in their previous game, and it's time for the Mets' bats to wake up.
