The San Jose Sharks are big favorite against the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday, but for a good reason. Anaheim finished one point ahead of San Jose in the standings, but the Sharks went 3-0-1 against the Ducks in the regular season before sweeping them in the first round of the playoffs.

The Sharks have since made an already solid team even stronger by adding arguably the league's top defenseman, two-time Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson, during the off-season.

Several of the Ducks key players are near the end of their career and former Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry underwent knee surgery in September and will miss the first five months of the season.
