(NCAAF) SMU vs. Texas State,
Point Spread: 23.50 | -107.00 Texas State (Home)
Result: Win
The SMU Mustangs finished last season with a 10-3 record, including a 47-17 triumph over the 3-9 Texas State Bobcats. I think they'll find it hard to win by such a large margin again, and I'm happy to take the points on the Bobcats in this matchup.

SMU quarterback Shane Buechele is back under center, leading an offense that ranked 13th in the nation in average passing yards last season. Even though the Mustangs led the country with 51 sacks, they still had issues on the defensive side of the ball and we have seen some significant changes along SMU’s defensive front during the offseason.

They'll face a rather prolific Texas State passing game with a transfer quarterback from Memphis, Brady McBride, under center. While it's quite possible we'll see the Mustangs get off to a fast start, look for Texas State to get the backdoor cover as SMU takes its foot off the gas.

8* play on Texas State.
