The Houston Astros are heating up at the right time, first sweeping Minnesota in the Wild Card round before winning the opener of this best-of-five ALDS against Oakland.

I like the Astros to keep rolling today with left-hander Framber Valdez (5-3, 3.57 ERA) on the mound. Valdez held Minnesota to a pair of hits when working five innings out of the bullpen last Tuesday. He held Oakland to one earned run with nine Ks through seven frames earlier this season.

As for A's starter Sean Manaea (4-3, 4.50 ERA), the left-hander has not pitched since September 23 and has allowed six runs on 13 hits in 11 2/3 innings in his last two starts.

Neither team is hitting left-handers particularly well, but I'm giving Houston the edge in this matchup.
