The set-up: The 20-13-4 Philadelphia Flyers and the 18-12-5 St. Louis Blues are both expected to get a significant player back from an injury in time for their matchup on Wednesday night at the Scottrade Center. Flyers center Sean Couturier missed the past 16 games because of an medial collateral ligament sprain to his left knee but is hoping to play tonight. As for or the Blues, center Paul Stastny missed the last game before the Christmas break because of an upper-body injury. However, he practiced on Tuesday, and coach Ken Hitchcock said Stastny would play against the Flyers.
Philadelphia: The Flyers are 11-2-1 in their last 14 games but have been held without a power-play goal in 15 chances over the past six games, one of the main reasons that after 10 straights wins, they lost three of their last four games before the Christmas break.
St. Louis: Stastny's return will give the Blues a healthy roster for Wednesday and have been one of the best teams at home in the NHL this season. However, they have lost their last two at home, in regulation to the Blackhawks and in overtime to the Edmonton Oilers.
The pick: I'm backing the Blues her at home coming off those back-to-back losses and will make them an 8* play.
