(MLB) NY Mets vs. Miami,

Money Line: -163.00 NY Mets (Away)
Result: Loss
The set-up: You could make a pretty sound argument that Mets' ace Jacob deGrom has been the best pitcher in the league over the first half and not many would argue with you. deGrom has been the victim of poor run support on more than one occasion this year, but despite that I absolutely believe he's worth the price of admission in this particular matchup. The Marlins counter with Sandy Alcantara.
The pitchers: deGrom is 5-3 with a 1.69 ERA. He most recently allowed three runs off five hits while striking out six over six frames of work in a loss to the LA Dodgers on Saturday. Despite the shaky outing (for his lofty standards anyways), he still owns a 1.01 WHIP and 126/26 K:W for the season.
Alcantara is so far 0-0 with a 4.32 ERA. This is his first career big league start. Alcantara has respectable Triple-A numbers (3.71 ERA and 64:34 K/W over 85 frames), but I think he's pretty much being thrown to the wolves in this matchup.
The pick: Take it for what you will as well, but New York is already 4-1 this year as a road favorite in the -125 to -175 range, while Miami is just 5-13 (-6.2 units) this season as a home underdog in the +125 to +175 range. This one has titanic mismatch written all over it. Lay the price, play on the Mets.
