The Nets won this game two nights ago by a score of 128-124. The Heat are just 6-9, while the Nets are 10-8. Miami was one of the better defensive clubs in the league last year, and it'll be eager to reverse its fortunes obviously. The Nets have been terrible defensively this season, so if they're going to really contend against the Lakers, they have a long way to go on that side of the ball as well.

The pick: If we add up these team's season averages, it comes to 129.6 (109.3 for the Heat and 120.3 for the Nets.) I don't think either is going to hit those averages here, as I look for a much more intense game, with shots being contested from the perimeter throughout. This number is a little high now.
