The set-up: The Cards won't be lacking for motivation here as they look to avenge two straight losses to open this series. Previous to that they'd won three in a row. I like Adam Wainwright here though over Drew Smyly. Wainwright (4-5, 3.95 ERA) comes in off an unfortunate no-decision to the Marlins, giving up two runs over six innings. He's been better at home than on the road, but owns a solid 3.87 ERA in all night contests.

The pick: Smyly (3-3, 5.63) gave up two runs over five innings in a win over the Fish last time out. He's 0-1 with a 7.54 ERA at home. The Cards though are 7-2 in their last nine in trying to revenge two straight losses to an opponent and with what I deem to be the superior starter for them on the hill tonight, everything does indeed point to the visiting side as the correct call in this one. Great value on the Cards in this bounce-back spot.
