At 10:15pm ET, my Revenge Game Of The Year is on BYU. At some point, you've got to tip your hat to teams like this season's Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL or the NCAA's BYU Cougars. They just find ways to win. I played against the Cougars last week. It was a difficult spot for them, as they were laying more than a field goal on the road against a hated and desperate instate rival. It wasn't easy but BYU, like the Chiefs, found a way to win. The Cougars, like the Chiefs, are now 9-0 on the season! This game is different. The Cougars are now at home and they are playing with revenge. Kansas was the first team they faced as a member of the Big 12 last season. Both teams came in with 3-0 records. The Cougars actually had a yardage edge. But they were -3 in turnovers and allowed 2 return touchdowns off turnovers. Not only was it BYU's first ever Big 12 loss but it marked the Cougars first loss of the 2023 season. They were playing the second of 2 straight road games at the time. Now they get to host the Jayhawks. They could have easily won last year's game and this year's team is much better and playing at home. The Jayhawks have struggled on the road under Leopold and are 0-4 in road games this year. The Cougars will avenge last year's loss and improve to 10-0. Lay the small number!
