Danny Duffy had a career year in 2016 and while he hasn't been able to live up to those incredibly high expectations this year, we still think that he has much more than just a "punchers chance" in this one:
Duffy: He's 5-4 with a 3.51 ERA. Duffy retuned from the DL on Tuesday against the Mariners and would earn a victory after allowing two runs over six innings while also striking out four. So far Duffy is a respectable 3-2 with a 3.91 ERA on the road.
Kershaw: He's 13-2 with a 2.19 ERA. Kershaw continues to set the standard for most of the league, also woning an impressive 146:22 K:BB over 123.1 innings of work.
The bottom line: We like Duffy to match Kershaw inning for inning and in a scenario like that, we believe the value swings to the underdog. Play on the ROYALS.
