Masahiro Tanaka: He's 7-8 with a 5.47 ERA. Tanaka most recently was destroyed for five runs off six hits over four innings in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday. He's looked brilliant at times this year and really poor in others, note that he's a disturbing 3-4 with a 6.24 ERA in all road games this season.
David Price: He's 4-2 with a 3.91 ERA. Price most recently gave up two runs over six innings in a no-decision agains the Rays on Sunday. Price has looked decent, but is a pedestrian 1-1 with a 4.01 ERA at home this year.
The bottom line: Note that New York has seen the total go OVER the number in 15 of 21 road games this year when the total in the contest is set between 8 and 8.5, while Boston has seen the total go OVER in 19 of 31 this year with a total of 8 or 8.5. Play the OVER.
