This is a 10* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the OVER between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds.
Both teams have struggled to put points on the board of late, but I look for this total to finally eclipse the number as the game comes down the stretch. The Diamondbacks have seen the total go UNDER the number in three straight, while the Reds have seen it dip below the posted number in nine straight games. Cincinnati will obviously be eager to continue its win streak after yesterday's 3-0 victory; while the Reds are down a few key offensive pieces right now, one good sign in Tuesday's win was Todd Frazier's break out game, going 2 for 4 with an RBI. The home side sends Simon (12-5, 2.86 ERA) to the mound; Simon has been poor since the All Star break, he's lost both of his starts by giving up seven runs over 9 1/3's innings, most recently giving up three and a season-high nine hits over just 4 1/3's innings in a 4-1 home loss to the Nats on Friday. Note that in his only start vs. Arizona, Simon would surrendur three runs over 6 1/3's innings in a 4-3 win at Chase Field on June 1st. The visitors counter with Wade Miley (6-7, 4.34 ERA) who was shelled for six runs over five frames in a 9-5 loss at Philadelphia on Friday and unfortunately for the southpaw, a date vs. the Reds is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked as he's 1-2 with a poor 5.01 ERA in four career starts vs. them. I look for this total to sneak OVER the number in the latter frames.
