I was impressed by Minnesota's offense in a 42-20 victory last week versus Eastern Illinois. The Gophers have good running backs and a solid offensive line that averages 6-foot-4, 310 pounds. I see them overwhelming Middle Tennessee, which doesn't have Big Ten size or talent.
The Blue Raiders, though, have always had respectable offenses under Rick Stockstill, the former Florida State quarterback. They scored 42 or more points in four of their last six games last season. It is alarming that Minnesota gave up 409 yards and 27 first downs to Eastern Illinois and bodes well for Middle Tennessee.
