Two great starting pitchers here. But this total is the lowest of the season and both Adam Wainwright and Clayton Kershaw haven't pitched in more than one week.
Wainwright last pitched on Sept. 23 while Kershaw hasn't pitched since Sept. 24. A little extra rest can be good, but this is far too much especially with a total so low. At least one of these pitchers is going to be rusty.
Wainwright's last 10 starts all have come on five days rest. The Dodgers were the hottest hitting team during September leading the majors in runs, batting and homers. Their middle infield is composed of Hanley Ramirez and Dee Gordon, two outstanding offensive players but below average fielders.
Neither bullpen is fully dependable having blowing a combined 31 saves.
The Dodgers have been a huge over team going 20-4-2 to the over in their last 26 games. They are 20-6-2 to the over in their last 28 games versus a right-hander.
