(NHL) Carolina vs. Detroit, 10/25/2016 3:30 PM, Score: 2 - 4
Money Line: -145.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the Detroit Red Wings.

The Wings are off to impressive 4-2 start, powered by solid play between the pipes from goaltenders Peter Mrazek and Jimmy Howard. Detroit is coming off a 3-0 victory at home over San Jose Saturday, and Howard stopped all 30 shots he faced. He stopped 32 of 33 shots in a 2-1 win at New York in his season debut. Mrazek has won his last two starts, and he's 2-0 with a 2.00 GAA at home, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Detroit ride the hot hand with Howard tonight. Goaltending has not been a strength for the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, who rank 27th in the league allowing an average of four goals per game during a 1-2-2 start. They lost 6-3 at Philly on Saturday, blowing a 2-0 lead. Jeff Skinner may have suffered an injury in the loss, as he was held out of practice Monday. Skinner led the team in scoring last season, and he has six points in five games so far this season. This looks like a tough spot for the Canes, as they have won just three of their last 11 at Joe Louis Arena. The Wings have won seven of their last eight on home ice.

Take DET.
