(MLB) Washington vs. San Francisco, 10/06/2014 11:05 AM, Score: 4 - 1
Money Line: -125.00 San Francisco (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the San Francisco Giants.

Even though the Giants impressed in their win against the Pirates in the Wild Card game, there were still question marks how they would handle a top team like the Nats. Well, after two wins in Washington I think they've silenced all critics, and I'm backing the Giants to pick up a fifth consecutive win and advance to the next round.

Doug Fister will toe the slab for the Nats, and he probably wishes they were still in Washington. Fister (16-6, 2.41 ERA) hurled a complete game shutout versus Miami his last time out and is showing a 1.72 ERA at home, but is registering a more mediocre ERA of 3.05 over his 15 starts on the road. He was 2-1 in his three starts away from home in September, but surrendered a combined nine runs (eight earned) on 20 hits with three home runs over 17 2/3 innings.

The Giants will hand the ball to Madison Bumgarner who dominated the Pirates in the Wild Card game his last time out. Bumgarner (18-10, 2.98 ERA) pitched a complete game shutout, conceding only four hits with 10 strikeouts leading the team to a 8-0 victory. He lost his only game against the Nats this season, despite doing his job conceding merely two runs on eight hits over seven innings. He finished the regular season in style, going 4-1 with a 1.57 ERA in August, followed by a 2-1, 3.08 ERA September.

Pablo Sandoval is 4-for-5 against Fister in previous meetings and is 4-for-16 so far in the playoffs.

Take SF.
