The Tigers took Game 1 of this series with the Twins as David Price tossed a gem on Opening Day. Detroit is a big favorite again this afternoon, but given the pitching matchup, I think it's worth the price to back the home team.
Ricky Nolasco will toe the slab for the visitors, and he was terrible in early games last season. The veteran posted a record of 2-7 with a 7.78 ERA in the afternoon, and his numbers on the road weren't pretty either. He didn't look so great this spring, surrendering five home runs over 22 innings.
The Tigers hand the ball to Anibal Sanchez, who was hampered by injuries last season. The right-hander owns a record of 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA in nine starts versus the the Twins over the last three seasons. He is likely to be the beneficiary of plenty of run support here today.
