I went against the lovable losers in their home opener, cashing in as Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals cruised to a 3-0 win. The Cubs will try to bounce back in a matinee game Wednesday, and I think they have a favorable matchup to work with.

Lance Lynn will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's coming off another decent season. Lynn won 15 games last year, but the majority of those wins came at home. He was also far more effective under the lights than he was in day games. He was 3-5 with a 4.69 ERA in nine starts in the afternoon, compared to 12-5 with a 2.12 ERA at night. He's also been hit pretty hard in previous starts at Wrigley, going 2-2 with a 5.04 ERA in five starts over the last three seasons.

The Cubs hand the ball to Jake Arrieta, who was almost unbeatable at Wrigley last year. Arrieta had a record of 6-1 with a 1.46 ERA in a dozen starts at the friendly confines. That's even more impressive when you consider that the team behind him wasn't great offensively or defensively. He looked quite sharp this spring, going 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA and striking out 15 over just 14 innings.

Arrieta owned the Cards last year, going 1-0 with a 1.21 ERA in four starts. He allowed just three earned runs over 22 1/3 innings in those games.

Take CHC.
