This is an 8* play on the Chicago Cubs.
The Milwaukee Brewers struggles continued yesterday, losing a 1-0 game to the Cubs in the series opener at Wrigley. It's not going to get any easier today with the Cubs sending Jake Arrieta to the mound.
Arrieta (3-1, 2.03 ERA) allowed just a pair of runs on four hits while striking out six in six innings in a win at Cincinnati his last time out. The right-hander has been great at Wrigley in recent seasons, with a record of 6-1 with a 1.46 ERA in a dozen starts in Chicago last season. He's also trended better in matinees according to his day/night splits over the last three seasons.
The Brewers hand the ball to Mike Fiers, who isn't missing many bats this season. Fiers (0-3, 5.79 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on nine hits in just four innings in a no decision versus St. Louis his last time out. He's been better at night than he has been in day games in recent seasons, and it looks like a tough spot for a struggling pitcher here today.
Anthony Rizzo has not been fooled by Fiers, going 5-for-7 lifetime with a home run and a pair of RBIs.
Take CHC.
