This is a 5* play on the Texas Rangers RL.
The Rangers are hot, following up a three game sweep of the Astros in Houston with a win in Game 1 of this series in Tampa last night. I like their chances here as an underdog tonight.
Yovani Gallardo will toe the rubber for the Rangers, and he's pitched better than his record would indicate. Gallardo (2-4, 4.05 ERA) allowed four runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings in a home loss to Oakland his last time out. He's been a better pitcher on the road, where he's 20-13 with a 3.33 ERA over the last three seasons. He's only faced Tampa once during that span, and he tossed seven scoreless innings in a no decision at Tropicana Field.
The Rays hand the ball to Austin Karns, who has been better on the road than he has been in Tampa. Karns (1-1, 4.05 ERA) has only allowed one run through 9 2/3 innings in his last two starts, both of those away from home. He's 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in three starts in Tampa so far.
The Rangers have an impressive road record, and they come in swinging some hot bats.
Take TEX.
