The Mets are still in first place in the NL East, and they will play the last place Phillies in Game 3 of this series at Citizen's Bank Park Sunday. After splitting the first two games, I like the Mets to take the rubber match.
Bartolo Colon will toe the slab for the Mets, and despite his old age and terrible physical appearance, he remains quite effective. Colon (5-1, 2.90 ERA) allowed one run on six hits over 7 1/3 innings in a win over the Orioles his last time out. The 41 year old was 3-1 with a 3.21 ERA in four starts versus the Phillies last year.
The Phillies hand the ball to Chad Billingsley, who was torched for six runs on eight hits over five innings in a loss to Atlanta in his only start this year.
Philadelphia owns the lowest scoring offense in the major leagues, scoring just 87 runs so far.
