Schule's NHL BEAST of the EAST - **Game 1 @ MSG**
(NHL) Tampa Bay vs. NY Rangers, 05/16/2015 9:00 AM, Score: 1 - 2
Money Line: -135.00 NY Rangers (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the NYR (Game 1).

The Rangers went to the Stanley Cup Finals last year, knocking off the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Finals. This year's team is arguably vastly improved, with the acquisition of Keith Yandle and improved play of young players like Chris Kreider and Derick Brassard. What I like most about the Rangers is that they have demonstrated the ability to win close games, and the resilience to come back when trailing. This is a team that is designed to win down and dirty, and that's what the playoffs are all about. The Lightning have more offensive firepower, skilled players, but they may not be able to match the Rangers physically. New York has the edge in goal with a former MVP, and perennial Vezina candidate in Henrik Lundqvist. Then there is the fact that the Rangers have home ice advantage, which often is overrated, but may not be in this case. The Lightning were pretty awful on the road this year, and I wouldn't want to have Tampa if this series goes seven games with Game 7 at the Garden.

Take NYR.
