Schule's MLB *CAPITAL PUNISHMENT* - **EARLY START**
(MLB) NY Yankees vs. Washington, 05/19/2015 3:05 PM, Score: 6 - 8
Money Line: -127.00 Washington (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the Washington Nationals.

The Nats have officially put a slow start to the season behind them, winning 15 of their last 20 overall. They host the Yankees in Game 1 of a three game series in the nation's capital tonight, and the Bronx Bombers have lost five of their last six.

Gio Gonzalez will toe the slab for the Nats, and he's at his best pitching in Washington's pitcher friendly park. Gonzalez (3-2, 4.25 ERA) allowed five runs on nine hits over five innings, not factoring in the decision in a win at Arizona his last time out. He's 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two starts at home this year, and 20-11 with a 2.87 ERA in 43 home starts over the last three seasons. He's also been at his best at night, going 31-14 with a 2.78 ERA in 58 starts under the lights since 2012.

The Yankees hand the ball to Nate Eovaldi, who hasn't been very consistent so far. Eovaldi (3-1, 4.14 ERA) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 7 1/3 innings in a loss at Tampa his last time out. He saw plenty of Washington when he was in the National League, going 2-4 with a 4.76 ERA in seven starts against the Nats over the last three seasons.

Ryan Zimmerman comes in swinging a hot bat, hitting .389 with a pair of home runs and eight RBIs over his last five games. He's hitting .375 with a pair of home runs lifetime versus Eovaldi.

Take WAS.
