Schule's MLB MERCHANT of DEATH - **EARLY START**
(MLB) Minnesota vs. Pittsburgh, 05/19/2015 3:05 PM, Score: 8 - 5
Money Line: -164.00 Pittsburgh (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates have been one of the best home teams in the major leagues in recent seasons, and they host a Twins team tonight that has struggled on the road. Minnesota is 7-11 on the road this season, and has dropped three of it's last four away from home.

Ricky Nolasco will toe the slab for the Twins, and he's been getting a little lucky lately. Nolasco (3-1, 6.38 ERA) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings in a win at Detroit his last time out. He's won three straight decisions despite not pitching particularly well in any of those games. He allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings in a loss in his only previous start against the Pirates since 2012.

The Pirates hand the ball to Francisco Liriano, who has pitched better than his record shows. Liriano (1-3, 2.96 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits over seven innings in a loss at Philadelphia his last time out. He's been good against Minnesota, going 1-0 with a 2.77 ERA in two starts versus the Twins since 2012.

The Twins bullpen hasn't done them many favors, and Minnesota's relievers have an ERA of 4.19, ranking among the worst in the majors.

Take PIT.
