The Seattle Mariners are sitting tied with Texas at the top of the AL West, but the Mariners have struggled of late. It won't get any easier in Game 1 of a new series at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Yu Darvish will toe the rubber for the Rangers, making just his second appearance this season. The 29 year old was dominant in his season debut, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out seven in five innings in a 5-2 win over Pittsburgh.

The Mariners hand the ball to Taijuan Walker, who hasn't missed many bats in his last few starts. Walker (2-5, 3.31 ERA) is winless in his last six starts, and he's been torched for 10 runs on on 10 hits and three walks over 11 2/3 innings in his last two appearances. He beat the Rangers at home earlier this season, but he could be in trouble here against a Texas team that has hit him hard in the past.

Adrian Beltre and Prince Fielder are both 5-for-11 lifetime versus Walker.
