The Houston Astros have dropped back to back games to the Detroit Tigers, but I like them to leave Motor City with a win in the series finale Sunday afternoon.
Dallas Keuchel (6-10, 4.57 ERA) will take the ball for Houston. He owns a 2.33 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP in four starts so far in July and he held the Yankees to a pair of runs in 7 2/3 innings his last time out. Keuchel is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA in five career starts against the Tigers and he held them scoreless through eight solid innings back in April.
Detroit turns to right-hander Mike Pelfrey (3-9, 4.98) who was reached for five runs through five innings his last time out. Pelfrey has struggled to knock out hitters lately with just a pair of Ks through his last 12 innings of work.
Astros are 5-1 in their last six games after losing the first two games of a series and 20-6 in their last 26 after scoring two runs or fewer in their previous game. They lost 3-2 last night and I think the Astros should bounce back with a win today.
