The Toronto Blue Jays had won four on the bounce prior to a 4-2 setback here at the K on Saturday. I like the Jays to bounce back with a win on Sunday with Marcus Stroman on the bump.
Stroman (8-4, 4.74 ERA) improved to 2-0 in as many starts against the Monarchs by permitting just two runs on three hits in eight frames of a 4-2 victory about a month ago. He fanned a career-best 13 when he held the Astros to one run through seven frames his last turn.
The Royals turn to Yordano Ventura (6-9, 4.83) who is a winless 0-5 in his last seven outings. He's lost each of his past three home starts, allowing 13 earned runs in 17 1/3 innings for a 6.75 ERA. The Royals are 1-6 in his last seven starts and the Jays are 4-0 in their last four games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
