Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Boston Red Sox 3-0 on Saturday to tie this series at 1-1. I like the them to ride that momentum to a win in the rubber match Sunday night with Brandon McCarthy on the mound.
McCarthy (2-2, 2.76) will replace Rich Hill as the Dodgers' starter tonight. The 33 year od has held opponents to a 1.58 batting average with 35 Ks through 29 1/3 innings of work this year. The Red Sox are 1-8 in their last nine games vs. a right-handed starter and 1-7 in their last eight games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
David Price (9-7, 4.30 ERA) takes the ball for Boston. The left-hander is 3-4 with a 4.26 ERA in 11 road starts on the season. The Dodgers are 11-4 in their last 15 interleague home games vs. a left-handed starter.
