Left-hander David Peterson (3-7, 5.45 ERA) will start for the Mets, and on the surface it looks as if he's pitched well lately with a 2.61 ERA his last three outings, but his WHIP is 1.84 in that span as well. Meaning he's been in hot water often and manages to pitch out of it. Atlanta will not be as courteous, as they are #1 in MLB in OPS vs southpaws. Allan Winans (1-0, 1.59) will be called up to make his third career start. On Aug. 12 he was added to the big-league roster for a doubleheader against the Mets and pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits, two walks and striking out nine, however this will be the second time the Mets see the youngster and they will make adjustments.
