Detroit head coach Dan Campbell took over this Lions franchise before the 2021 NFL season and no team has had a better against the spread since that time with Detroit covering the point spread nearly 70% of the time. Campbell and the Lions will have had two weeks to prepare for this game as they come in well rested off their bye week and they are getting back some key guys from extended injuries as well. Detroit has won five straight as a favorite and covered those games by 10 points per game. Los Angeles has once again struggled when facing the better teams in the league going 1-3 straight-up and against the spread versus teams with a winning record this year and that lone win was over a 5-4 Minnesota team. We seen the same thing last year from the Chargers who only won one of their seven games against teams who ended with a winning mark and that was over a 9-8 Miami Dolphins team. The Chargers have arguably the worst home field edge in the NFL and Lions fans travel well so I don't see any home field advantage in this one for LA.
