Jacksonville State is a team that I expect to be very excited for this bowl game. This is the first year in the FBS for JSU and they weren't sure they'd even be allowed into bowl action until finding out late that they would. Now given a 2nd chance I think JSU should be extra motivated here in this one. The Gamecocks stood tall all season posting one of the best ATS records in the country and overall I feel have the better of these two teams. Louisiana Lafayette was a team I didn't like this season. The Ragin Cajuns struggled in games lined between -10 and +10 going just 2-6 against the spread. They lost nearly every game this year when they faced a decent opponent and the ones they did win against South Alabama they were helped out greatly by a +5 turnover margin and had a miracle comeback victory over Texas State in a game they were outplayed the entire way and were out gained by more than 100 yards on offense.
