With Andy Dalton likely out for at least two more weeks, the Bengals have plenty of motivation to run up the score. They certainly want to prove that the offense can with with AJ McCarron at QB.

As we said many times, the only time also-rans do tend to truly pack it in is week 17, especially if they are playing on the road and especially if it has been a very disappointing season. That would be the Baltimore Ravens.

As an example, in the first 13 weeks of the season, road teams are outscored 22.3-19.9. In the first 15, it widens a bit to 22.4-19.9. Week 17, it is 23.7-19.5 but add to that a Baltimore team with all the reasons to be at the extreme end of that.
