This is a scheduling dynamic. In short, when one team is much more rested, it usually benefits the home team. The three-games-in-four nights, five-in-seven etc. generally happen on road trips.

This distorts the home/road stats that are taken into account with home court advantage. In the less common example of when the road team is more rested, we get the edge because the metrics that go into normal home court advantage are not there and the edge is the road team. This one is 206-152-10.
