Virginia Tech is living off reputation. AJ McCarron, Amari Cooper and the Tide's stifling defense, led by All-American linebacker C.J. Mosley will overpower them. Yes Bama did reload, but that means some super talented players have something to prove.

AJ McCarron completed 65 percent of his passes thrown 20 yards or more with 12 touchdowns and no interceptions last season. He completed 39 percent of such passes with six touchdowns as a sophomore. This year is likely to be just as good as last.

Amari Cooper is the best playmaker the Tide have had in some time. McCarron has a bounty of weapons to choose from, led by Cooper and TB T.J. Yeldon. He said he's never had better chemistry with a group of receivers. The Hokies have just 10 seniors combined on their offensive and defensive two-deep. The Tide will be high.
