Major
(NFL) NY Giants vs. Chicago,
Point Spread: -7.00 | -115.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Loss
One of the intricacies of handicapping is knowing when a team is overachieving/underachieving or when the oddsmakers grossly over or underrate them. After give games it is obvious the Giants are horrid.

They have a league worst -17.9 margin of cover, meaning they are failing against the spread by an average of almost 18 a game. Yes that is worse than even the Jaguars.

They are allowing 36.4 points per game allowing at least 31 all five games, an incompetence that has not happened since 1954. We have seen this Jay Cutler movie before. He starts out 3-0 straight up, raises expectations and loses two straight by eight. But now is the perfect opportunity for the consistently inconsistent QB to blow a team out.

Alshon Jeffery had 10 catches, 218 yards and a touchdown last week and will open things up greatly for Brandon Marshall against an injury riddled Giants defense. Now NY is without decent RB David Wilson. He will be replaced by ancient Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs has rushed for 48 yards on 22 carries this season. The 11 carries he got Sunday, when Wilson had to miss the final three quarters of the game, were Jacobs highest single-game total since Dec. 11, 2011.
