Major
(NCAAF) California vs. UCLA,
Point Spread: 25.50 | -110.00 California (Away)
Result: Loss
Talk about a perfect sandwich game. UCLA is coming of an impressive road win at Utah. The next two weeks, with no bye along the way, sees them play their two best foes Stanford and Oregon on the road.

Though UCLA has been injury free in the early goings, for the first time all season they will deal with some. Defensive lineman Ellis McCarthy is questionable. UCLA loves to rotate DL, so the starter would really be missed in a game against an up-tempo Cali team.

Torian White, the UCLA starting left tackle is lost for the year. Jordan James, their leading rusher is out. He has 74 carries for 463 yards, a nice 6.3 yards per rushing attempt and five scores.

Cali stud frosh QB Jared Goff has had some baptism by fire. As a true frosh should, he has had some struggles. But with 233 throws under his belt, now is the time he would start to ramp up. It is no surprise he is off a 500-yard passing performance.

To UCLA credit, they have beaten two good teams on the road, but this is the one easy game in a brutal stretch. A letdown against a dangerous up and coming QB occurs here. They will not get upset, but Cal avoids the blowout and gets the cover.

Now to the NFL where we are having yet another banner season.
