Southern Miss is a total mess. Not sure who they will blame this year, but they have been a great go-against each of the last two years. Not only are they 1-6 against the spread but the only cover was by 3.5 yet all six setback were by 14.5 or more to the number. No, not straight up but against all but once this year they failed by more than two touchdowns to the number.

Young North Texas is peaking. They have won straight up their last two by 42 combined and covered by 32. Southern Miss is already playing for the future handing the offense to green freshman Nick Mullens. In three games, Mullens has thrown for a pedestrian 117 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
