Southern Miss is a laughingstock. They only game they covered all season was against bust Arkansas by 3.5 as they lost by 21 straight up. The other six games they failed by 14.5 or more points.

Through seven games, Marshall is No. 1 in Conference USA in total offense and total defense. Marshall is a few breaks from being undefeated dropping tough one at Virginia Tech (losing 29-21 in three overtimes), and obviously last week (in a 51-49 loss to Middle Tennessee) and Ohio on the road (a 34-31 loss).

Already trying to build for the future, Southern Miss is going with raw Nick Mullens at QB. This has 40-0 shutout written all over it with Marshall getting points on defense.
