Wise Guy
(NCAAF) Southern Cal vs. Stanford,
Point Spread: -3.00 | -110.00 Stanford (Home)
Result: Loss
USC will have some growing pains with their new hurry-up offense. After it did very well against Fresno, look for some inconsistency to show its face to a superior Stanford squad.

It is a revenge game. Last season Stanford had just handled No. 2 Oregon and had climbed to 8-1 and a No. 5 ranking only to come to L.A. see the Trojans pulled off a 20-17 upset on the way to saving their season. But the letdown situation has been replaced by revenge.

The Trojans played 11 true freshman against Fresno State, but this is out of necessity as USC has less depth than just about any so-called national contender. Talk about being able to predict inconsistency, last week USC destroyed overmatched Fresno State at home, now they are a bit too fat and happy playing a much tougher foe on the road. Freshmen offensive guards Toa Lobendahn, Damien Mama and Viane Talamaivao will face a much more physical defensive line in Palo Alto.

The Trojan offensive linemen looked winded at times Saturday and that was against a pushover. This is a brutal spot for a team dependent on so many young players to play their first road game.
