Not to overdramatize things, but that might have been a watershed win for the Cards on Saturday, especially after rallying from a 4-1 deficit and appearing for a while to be in danger of getting swept four in this weekend set at Chicago. Now, a split is on the table, and better news tonight is going against recently-scuffling Cubs starter Justin Steele, in whose last three appearances has delivered an ERA of 7.20 and WHIP at 2.00 (not good either). Meanwhile, though he has had the occasional stinker starts, Miles Mikolas is mostly consistent on the mound for Oliver Marmol, ten times allowing three runs or fewer across his last 13 starts and keeping the Redbirds in position to win.
