This one has come out of nowhere, but ex-Tiger Matthew Boyd has appeared from nowhere and looks to be campaigning for a spot in Cleveland's postseason rotation. Since returning to active duty in mid-August, Boyd has made four starts, and the results are not bad at all, with a 2.38 ERA and 0.84 WHIP, and working thru six complete innings in his last two starts. The guardians have also allowed just 11 runs across their last five games. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are closely managing the innings of rookie Landon Knack, who rarely sticks around too long to get into eventual trouble.
