We didn't take notice of this one important portal move before last week, but Northwestern adding mobile QB Mike Wright to the mix should pay dividends for the Cats. It's the same Wright, who triggered a mild Vanderbilt recovery two years ago before being misused at Mississippi State last year. David Braun's "Wildcat Miracle" last season was mostly built upon solid defense and a bulletproof, low-variance offense, but used properly, Wright adds a much sharper edge to the attack end for NU. Still early for Manny Diaz in his debut at Duke, and he has his own transfer QB, ex-Texas Maalik Murphy. But the Blue Devils weren't all that smooth in last week's 26-3 opening win over Elon, and registering the eight sacks the Diaz defense did vs. Fighting Phoenix QBs will be a lot more difficult vs. the elusive Wright.
